FFL Dealers in Delaware

113 federally licensed firearms dealers across Delaware, from the ATF’s published licensee list. Pick a city for names, addresses and phone numbers.

This is the ATF licensee list — who holds a licence and where. It is not opening hours, not transfer fees, and not a guarantee that a given dealer handles private-party transfers. Call before you drive.

What Delaware requires for a private transfer

  • Delaware requires every private firearm sale to go through a licensed dealer, so an FFL is not optional here — you need one of the dealers below.
  • Delaware requires a permit to purchase for some firearms.
  • Delaware exempts some transfers between family members, but the exemption is narrower than people expect and does not cover every relative or every kind of transfer. Check before relying on it.
  • Universal background check. Handgun Qualified Purchaser Permit required for handguns in private sales since 2025-11-16 (11 Del. C. 1448D, 1448B(a)(2)). 21 for handguns and conventional rifles; shotguns and muzzle-loaders carve out of the 21 bar (1448(a)(5)). Family carve-out is an enumerated list and does not reach the under-21 bar.

Another 93 Delaware dealers are in towns with fewer than 8 licensees each, so they do not have a page of their own. Search by ZIP code to find those.

Doing the transfer itself

A dealer handles the background check. The bill of sale, both parties’ records and a permanent copy of the paperwork are what Gun Transfer does — $50 flat, about ten minutes.
